Element x Crunchtime Artists //NO street NO art
Element joined forces with Crunchtime artists based in Vienna, Austria for a skateboard live-painting project this autumn. Decks coming out of artists' series by skateboard companies are usually either too exclusive or too expensive to be skated. Hence, they usually end up on a wall in a living room. But you know what - NO street NO art!
Crunchtime is a crew of young art scene fellows from all over the world who joined forces with element to change that dogma for good! They painted 30 boards in summer 2009 and are going to sell them now for only 50 Euro to true skateboarders.
Sales point will be one of the "Art Corners" of the SNEAKERNESS tradeshow in Vienna, 10 October 2009.
All buyers will be asked to bring back their boards to the notorious INOPERAbLE Gallery in Vienna, 19 December, to showcase their skated boards again together with skatephotos and impressions of the Crunchtime painting sessions.
Fefe Talavera (Brasil), Smurf (Austria), Stereotyp (Austria), AraByrd (Malaysia), Cee (Germany) and Momo1030 (Austria) painted the boards at a plaza in Vienna and a nearby lake called Wienerbergsee. Two more painting sessions will be happening soon - We can't wait to see the results!
